While many outside influences have the tendency to make single adults feel out of place or abnormal, the reality of single life is not substandard as it is often made out to be. Though it may sound obvious to those completely happy and confident in their solo status, it took me a while to realize for myself. For so long my relatives, and even some of my friends have been telling me that I should be dating, and giving more people a chance, so when I do fall in love again, I'll finally reach the ultimate level of happiness. But the thought of being in love with something other than my job or my last brunch trip just didn't seem appealing. To put it simply, I wasn't about it.
